My old Alma Mater, Dyer High School, was converted to a Junior High School after 1980. Over the years and through several remodelings, the old composite pictures of the Dyer High School graduating classes were moved around, stored, etc. They have finally found a permanent home in the original school entry hall. On my last two trips to Dyer, I have endeavored to photograph these composite pictures with the aim of making them available to all interested persons via the web. Click here or on the picture and follow the links to the individual pictures. Indexes are presented both by year and by name. The name index includes the row-column location on the composite and a link to the full sized composite picture. Pictures run from 1923 to 1980, although some are missing from the display. Reflections from the protective coverings kept the quality from being as good as I would have liked, but I think you DHS graduates will be able to recognize yourselves, your parents, your children, etc. Enjoy! These pictures along with many others are also available on the Gibson County Genealogy website here. |

We finally managed to get a week free and make a trip to Tennessee in late April for a visit. For once we were lucky on the weather, and we actually hit the peak of the spring flower season. Here's my mother out checking out her Japanese Maple, red azaleas, and flowering dogwoods The whole town of Dyer was in bloom like this, and was prettier than I've seen it in years. Could not have asked for better weather either. Of course a week after we left for home, they got several nights of hard freezes from the same front that dumped 3½" of snow on Waco! There are more pictures from our 2007 Spring visit to Dyer here. |

For Christmas 2005 I decided to resurrect my "CD Christmas Tree" in the back yard using this yaupon holly bush which already came decked out with red berries and a bird house. Adding a few lights and a collection of colorful CDs I've gotten in the mail finished out the effort just in time to beat the first ice storm of the season. |

Angie and I had a full and interesting Memorial Day weekend this year. We spent three evenings down at Cedar Hill State Park with the Wallners and friends, including a young couple from Holland. We spent it generally relaxing, feasting, and just enjoying ourselves. To see more pictures of our weekend, click here or on the picture. Thanks to Jim Wallner for this picture. |

Yep! We went back to the State Fair again Wednesday accompanied by Angie's sister Hsu Whey, and once again we ran into the Wallners. Jim snapped this picture of Angie and I getting full benefit out of the music from the Chevy Stage. Saw more this time, but there's still a lot we haven't managed yet. Next week! Click the picture or here for more shots from the fair. And yes, the following Wednesday, we returned and did it up proud! Check the thumbnail sheets for even more pictures. |

It was a great spring time in Texas this year, and between the flags and yellow ribbons dotting the countryside, even the flowers were displaying the Red, White and Blue. This was taken along Sugar Ridge Road outside of Bristol, Texas. Click the picture at the side or here to see more. |

April 11, 2003: As soon as Alex got out of school, the Flores joined us in a trip to Tyler in East Texas to view the Azaleas. As usual, they are spectacular, and while there we got a heaping helping of Texas hospitality. Click on the picture or here to see more of Tyler and spring time in Texas this year. For some similar pictures, many from the same places, from previous years try 2002, 2001, 2000, and 1999. |

If the sight of this place makes you drool and dream of pie, then you too have eaten at the Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Falls! We got a chance to get back down to Marble Falls and the Horseshoe Bay area just before Christmas. Click here or on the picture, to see some of what we've been up to. |

We did make it back to Tennessee for Thanksgiving in 2002, and had a great time. On the second day we were home, my first cousin, Gene Harkey, came down from Manchester and spent a day with us. I really enjoyed getting reacquainted with him after all these years, and look forward to visiting him at his home soon. Other cousins' pictures are here. This year I got to spend some extra time at home, and if you click here or on the picture, you can see a little of what I was up to. |
